Mimic Hunt 2: Electric Boogaloo
Hello hello!
As some of you may or may not remember, back in October there was discussion of hosting a plot-relevant mimic hunt. Long story short, for reasons yet to be revealed to us, mimic blood is somehow part of the puzzle to unraveling the mysteries pertaining to Nyssa. Which means we need to get a "donation," willing or otherwise, from a very deadly creature.
Originally, we had discussed trying to organize a large exploradora run in November--but a lot of plot crucial events and trauma games popped up, and there just really was no time to contemplate it until now. With the return of No-Games Weeks every month, however, we have a golden opportunity to return to this.
WHAT TO DO?
This entry is to serve both as a tentative sign up and information collection. Even if you signed up before, please sign up again as we need new/additional information. If you have not been in the discussion prior to now, and especially if you've had little to no involvement in plot until now, please feel free to sign up!
In order to sign up, I need the following information from you:
There is not currently a cap for number of participants. If there get to be too many to feasibly run as a single group, we may have to have separate searches or runs (in which case, we may have to ask for preferred groups, but we will cross that bridge if we reach it). Once we've determined who would like to participate, we will discuss where the characters will be searching and reach out to the mods to coordinate for a runner (or runners, if necessary).
Please be aware: the mimic is apparently exceptionally deadly and clever with a five star difficulty on the settings page. The mods have specifically stated in previous communications that it is expected to be fought MMO raid style, and a party of at least seven high-powered characters is necessary to take it down. At the bare minimum of seven, characters are still likely to sustain injuries, some of which would likely be severe. A larger party is more likely to be able to defeat the mimic with less trouble, but I cannot guarantee your character(s) or others your character cares about may not sustain damage in a fight with it or any other dangerous, non-mimic creature(s) which may be encountered during the exploradora.
If you have any questions or other miscellany comments, feel free to respond below and I'll get back to you!

- Your name & preferred plurk contact for future private planning
- which character(s) you plan on involving
- what practical skills your character offers (support? fighting? healing? magic offense/magic defense? medical prowess? tracking / hunting?)
- a date preference between February 14-19, February 28-March 4, or March 13-19 (including any dates you absolutely cannot make during those ranges) for a run edit:and general preferred times / hour ranges! (I'm not sure if we'll end up using only one or two or all three. :|;;; just trying to get a general consensus at this point.)
- your time zone

Re: Sign Ups
which character(s) you plan on involving: Ed
what practical skills your character offers: Bullshit Mage, basic swordsmanship, he can fly and has a ranged attack, and he's just in general really reliable in a fight.
Date preference: between February 28-March 4, or March 13-19, FRI/SAT preferred in general.
time zone: CST
Time range: fri/sat I can do anytime, but any other day of the week I'm good after 9 PM CST.

1.
2. Panther..!!!
3. medical + op powers laughtrack.wav
4. I literally cannot plan ahead for this but as soon as I know I'll let you know. I'm p. flexible.
5. PST!!!! (evenings please)
Yato
2. sweaty mccoolsweats
3. durability (when it comes to mundane physical damage), slight super strength, extreme super jumping, super shounen sword skills as well as unarmed combat skills, and teleportation.
4. right now, I have no preference. my schedule could change, in which case I'll let you know. my availability is always limited on weekdays because work.
around 6-10pm pst is the only time frame that'll work on weekdays for me. on weekends, it's too early for me to have any pref yet.

2. Sabre. Although I could offer my echo if needed as well; Kynigos is a badass hunter and would enjoy something like this.
3. Sabre's mostly a physical fighter (fists & feet) with some supernatural quickness, dexterity, lightness, etc etc thrown in. (Permissions page / details over here. She also has some medical knowledge (setting broken bones, how to sew stitches and stop bleeding, that sort of thing) and is usually running around with a very small medical supply (guaze, bandages, tylenol).
4. I cannot make February 20th, but that date is outside the current ranges. Other than that, I have no real date constraints. However, on weekdays I can really only play 4 PM - 12 AM (and not even that full range per day as I have to have some sleep). On weekends, my availability is a bit more flexible.

2. Kaito!!
3. Kaito has abooooout an intermediate level of physical fighting skills, which includes both hand-to-hand and swordsmanship (he's still learning and has a long way to go before he masters either skill, but he's picked up a lot from Clover!) He's also damn good with firearms and has the aim of a sharp-eyed shooter. What he really excels at, though, is speed and dexterity! He is very slippery and quick on his feet and difficult to hit and all that good stuff. Also he has general thief skills and basic first aid knowledge.
4. My preference is February 28 - March 4, or March 13 - 19. I THINK I can make all of those but my preference is for weekends! Fri/Sat/Sun. My time preference would be late morning/early afternoon CST! So like from 11 am to like 3 pm.
5. US Central
Re: Sign Ups
2. Would be playing Rook obvs!
3. Has a lightsaber, so MAD SWORD SKILLZ. Also mad martial arts skills. Has superhuman strength/speed. Basic medical knowledge.
4. ALL OF THE DATES WORK FOR ME. Sundays could be a little more iffy, but anything aside, ye.
5. EST!
Re: Sign Ups
Sapphire/Susan
Susan has bullshit mage powers similar to Ed but less so (right now) can also conceivably prepare medical supplies if asked beforehand
date preference: March dates preferred
time zone: MST
EVENING PREFERRED
Re: Sign Ups
Character(s) you plan on involving: Holly, but if it looks like we need more heavy-hitters I can swap out for Starlight?
Skills: Holly is strictly on medic duty and defense/support; she has first aid knowledge and non-magical healing, along with Cat pendant powers + magic healing.
Date preference: I think I can pretty much make any of these times, though the February 14-19 might be trickier? February 28-March 4 dates might work best for me. WEEKENDS HONESTLY WORK BEST FOR ME because on average I get home at 6PM PST on weeknights with is much too late for EST! I will do my best to make whatever time it is though!!!!
Time zone: PST!!

2. Which character(s) you plan on involving: Maya, but I can swap out for Matt if need be.
3. What practical skills your character offers: Basic defense/hand-to-hand combat, support, some first aid, CHEERLEADER?! Maya is very observant but otherwise not much | Matt knows hand to hand combat, has enhanced senses, sucks at flying, knows first aid, and can be an effective meatshield
4. A date preference: I lean towards February 28th-4th March or March 13-19th, but I may be able to make the first run as well, I'm not sure yet. I can let you know. Evenings work best for me generally!!
5. Time zone: EST
Re: Sign Ups
2. which character(s) you plan on involving: I HAVE LIMITED OPTIONS HERE
3. what practical skills your character offers: shoot all the things. bandage all the bleeding people. SUPERSPEED/STRENGTH BULLSHIT MARY SUE STUFF idk don't ask me to explain his powers gil
4. a date preference: i thhhiink all of those date ranges are ok but i'll edit if necessary. WEEKNIGHTS ARE BULLSHIT FOR ME, i have to be asleep by 10 EST. weekends i can yolo harder and show up at most any reasonable EST time.
5. your time zone: EST/the lame one
Re: Sign Ups
Character: Caracal/Colette D. Wolfwood
Skills she offers: Fighting! She has a high pain threshold, knows how to shoot a gun, and has "superior fighting instinct", which I've explained here because it's super cheaty. By February I think I'll also have given back her knowledge of how to shoot her giant 300lb crossgun.
Date preferences: I think I could feasibly make any of those dates--I don't have plans--but I vastly prefer weekend afternoons/evenings. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I volunteer at my local food bank and am generally unavailable until after 1pm PST.
Timezone: PST MASTER RACE.
NOW UNDER THE SIGNUPS HEADER

Re: Sign Ups
2. Kelvin
3. By February he should at least have his turret use skill back, which means SHOOT ALL THE THINGS. Possibly also other general badass soldier skills!
4. Any of the times are fine by me, but let's say February 28-March 4 for preferred.
5. GMT+2 which means I'll probably be asleep or too tired to play around 9PM-1AM EST :( If that doesn't work with everyone else's time ranges, I'm okay with skipping out.
Re: Sign Ups
2. Naoto Shirogane/Lapis
3. Lapis has detective skills that can be useful in tracking, and she has a Persona that can beat things. Depending on when this is, she might or might not have her firearms skill/a gun back.
4. Any of them work, honestly.
5. At the moment, any time, but I will likely have a job soon. ETA: The February slot might not be as good for me, because I might be moving/traveling/packing, but I could make it work.
Re: Sign Ups
Plurk:
Character(s): Sylvanas Windrunner ("Nightshade")
Practical Skills: Shooting things with arrows, stabbing things with swords. She's very good at both of those things. Also can't die. Also will likely get back a skill between now and then that lets her buff party so she can be a bit of a bard as well! She has a lot of debilitating skills like poison or sneak attacks and stuff as well.
Date/Time Preference: February 28-March 4! I am generally free in evenings, excepting early evening on Mondays and Fridays. However, I can make all of those dates and could be there really whenever you needed me.
Timezone: CST.

2. Coyote
3. He mainly has his cat powers to offer...! And, I guess his wits? IDK if that counts.
4. Anything in the evenings, I think, but otherwise I can't say since my schedule is basically week-to-week and I never know until basically days before the new week starts
5. CST
Re: Sign Ups
Character: Aoko
Skills: She's learned to think on her feet in a fight, and she's good for tag-teams and providing back-up! She also has first aid and Cat pendant powers - her speciality with the pendant is shielding!
Timing: I can only tag between 1:30pm EST and 5:30pm Mon-Thurs, 6:30pm onwards Friday, all day Saturday, and up to 6:30pm on Sundays.
SO PRETTY MUCH Fri-Sat only for me.
Re: Sign Ups
2. Moyolehuani.
3. Melee combat skills, tactical knowledge, ranged magical attacks, magically heightened senses. Basic first aid.
4. Evenings preferred, I have classes on Tuesday and Wednesday that make me indisposed from about 2:30 to 9 PM. Sundays are possible, but I'll be less focused, since I have tabletop on those days. Any of the ranges are fine in themselves.
5. EST.
Re: Sign Ups
2. Lyncis
3. Fighting, Brute Strength, Enhanced Speed, Refusal to go down, Ability to shapeshift into a leopard for several hours
4. February 28-March 4 since I will be away Feb. 14-19, 7 PM-12AM EST
5. EST
Re: Sign Ups
2. Mushyyyyyy
3. Mad knife skills/hand-to-hand combat. Also pretty fast. Not superhuman but pretty OP.
4. No preference for dates, except 3/17 is my birthday so preferably not then. For times I'm good pretty much anytime in the afternoon/evening.
5. PST!
UPDATE as of 3/5 | Continued Interest Check
Kimmeh and Tara have graciously offered to host two runs for us on our requested time of March 11th-13th. According to them, we're looking at a Saturday afternoon - night blocking (so, say, 4 or 5 PM EST start time, with a continuation on Sunday if necessary).
I know that for some of you, this time may be less than ideal, and it's possible others of you may have lost interest or may be in the midst of a hiatus at this time. Please respond to this comment to confirm your continued interest or to let us know if you're dropping out! If our numbers stay roughly the same, we'll need to break into two groups of about 6-8, depending. (No requests yet, let's just see how many of us there still are and then we can figure that out.) ALSO, for people who haven't signed up until now... if you feel like you want in still, there is still time. Join us!?!
Hiyori will bring cookies? The mods are also looking for Volunteers!
This is PURELY OPTIONAL, and volunteers may of course change their passwords to dummy passwords for the duration of the event if they feel more comfortable doing so.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING for this optional role, please be sure to mention so in your comment so that Tara and/or Kimmeh can contact you privately.

It looks like you have plenty of other offers so I am going to decline the hijacking, but if the runners feel like it will impact the amount of enjoyment had from the run just lmk
