Hello, Kyriakos!

We have a discussion and a poll for you today regarding our passage of time for the next stretch of time and our next plot event. First off, we want to announce that our next major event for the Nyssa plot is going to take place the weekend of July 8th. We have one more essential, but minor event to get to before that that, which we have yet to schedule, but we're hoping to do sometime next week. The issue that we've found, however, is that the recent trauma game has hit our cast somewhat harder than we anticipated. The game's tone and atmosphere is an important concern of the plot team and we expect the next minor and major events to be somewhat hard on the game -- not as bad as a trauma game or Henwen getting blown to bits, but still decently hard and around what we've come to expect from Nyssa and her cohorts.

We want to make it clear, we plan to stick in moments of good fortune, hope and accomplishment for the cast throughout the rest of the Nyssaplot to stop the atmosphere from getting too oppressive, but we're nonetheless a little concerned right now that if we go straight into our next events, moving right from being hurt badly by Yaksinis to being once again attacked and set back by Nyssa, it may be too hard on the cast, especially with a lot of people still doing healquests. We also want people to be able to play out their fallout and healquests as they want without just going right past that to rush to the next event, because we understand that that's important to people and their character's development to be able to play out.

So, this is where the discussion of passage of time comes in. We want to make this clear, to stick to our schedule and reach our timeline for the conclusion of the Nyssaplot, our next major event has to take place on the weekend of July 8th. We'll talk more about our schedule and deadline this weekend on the state of the game post and after this event on the weekend of the 8th, we'll be able to start being a lot more open about some exact particulars of our schedule. So, having said all that, here are what we believe to be our options to, if need be, give the game some space from Yaksinis' trauma game and lead into our next event.

1. Just continue on with our current IC:OOC day ratio. Our cast deals with what happens as it happens.

2. Outright timeskip and backdating. For example, we skip from Day 230 up ahead to Day 235, Day 237, Day 240, something like that, purely for example. In this case, we would put a post up on the comm with all the skipped days, for players to backdate things as they need to, looking something like this.

3. Speed up the IC-OOC day ratio, making it 1:1 for a while. For a set amount of days, IC time and OOC time would advance basically at the same ratio to make fallout go a bit faster. When we sped up and when we slowed back down to normal time isn't locked in yet, but would probably start pretty soon after this poll closes and end later next week.

These are the options we're looking at, please take a minute to think about it and vote. We'll have this poll open until announcements go up on Friday night, at which point, we'll announce the results of the poll and what plan we'll be going with, so, please make sure you vote by some time Friday afternoon or evening at the latest. We will make daily reminders on plurk to make sure this post is as visible as possible.
