IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello Kyriakos!
We’re still watching things and listening to things that may appear in our recent discussion post, but since it seems to have slowed down considerably, we would like to start summarizing what came up and what we’re going to look into and roll out in the near future.
APPS
This was the first major topic that we covered! We realize that our queue is long, so we wanted to hear your opinions for working out solutions.
Things that were brought up by both us and our players:
◉ Closing apps until our queue is smaller, essentially putting app rounds into place!
◉ A new, tenth team to help balance numbers for gamerunners.
◉ Potentially opening a seventh slot on teams.
◉ Stricter AC.
◉ A special team that will be known as the Cat team.
After hearing your thoughts and opinions, though, we do have a gameplan in place! We want to share it with you so that you guys know what’s going to be happening here in the near future:
We will be closing apps on March 2, 2014 at Midnight EST. They will not be closed forever! Once our queue is less overwhelming we will reopen them. The only thing that will be allowed during this time when it comes to getting a new character in is swapping, which only applies if you have one character and only if the character would be a good fit for the team.
We will also be opening a tenth team in the near future to allow for some queue relief and to even out the team numbers for gamerunning reasons. It also makes the question of “how many teams do we reward” a lot easier to determine! This will be our last core team for awhile, unless our queue begins to have extremely unreasonable wait times.
We will not be adding a seventh slot to the current teams at this time, in favor of a new team to even numbers out for our gamerunners. This does not mean that it’s off of the table, though! If our queue continues as it is, we will look at this option again as a possible solution over adding new core teams. It’s something that we’ll revisit if other options don’t settle the queue.
We are going to consider changing our activity requirements! They were made for a game that was much slower, and now that our game is growing and becoming much more active, things may have to change. Don’t fret, though! The AC will still be fairly easy to meet for everyone, since we don’t want to make it difficult for people that live in other timezones and may not be able to thread during game primetime as often. We’ll have this information in place for you soon, but the change itself will not be implemented until next month! This will have its own post before the next month rolls in, so please standby!
The Cat team will be happening at some point soon. We are still taking suggestions and advice for how to implement this role to make it fun for you guys, but we do have a much more solid idea for it that we will outline here. It’s absolutely a difficult role to implement! We do think we have some decent ideas down, and it’s thanks to you guys offering suggestions that we were able to hammer out the details. Here is what we have so far, since we want you guys to know what this role would involve and the differences that it’ll have from the main team system:
◉ Cats will be patronned to the Queen, and, by proxy, to the Princess!
◉ Their role is to uphold the will of the royal family; to ‘fill-in’ for teams with low turnout during games; to run quests and minigames; to assist Echoes in the running of their games when asked to do so.
◉ They’ll also be on hand to defuse PvP situations outside of the games!
◉ If the Queen or the Princess have orders, the Cat team is obligated to follow.
◉ They’re something like administrators of the system, there to keep things running as smoothly as possible! They earn their shards back by doing their jobs, instead of being strictly reliant upon the games.
◉ While they’re still essentially a team, the Cats can be far more independent. They may not have the same support network that a team will have, and this group may potentially lack the cohesion the other teams have.
◉ They will be able to gain memories through games (on an individual basis if the team they are playing for wins) and through giving quests and minigames.
We will also be emailing everyone in the queue to ask for what you may want to do! ♥ We don't have a timeframe on this because a tenth, core team is more important at this period of time, to allow for the newer teams to settle down a little more.
PLOT
There was not as much discussion here, but we do appreciate the input that you’ve given us! Knowing your preferred methods on how we go about this will help us plan things in the long run that allow us to run plot events while sticking to the sorts of methods that you’d like to see.
GAMERUNNING
We have a lot of cool game ideas so go check them out! Help people design games, throw ideas out for people to nab, or just gauge interest on a game you’d like to run.
ANYTHING ELSE?
We have decided to not add baby seals to the setting because we can’t trust Lepus and Big Boss to not eat them.
This was asked as a question, but putting this here for everyone to see (and it will be edited into our mechanics): Once a character begins to regain more of their memories they will be more likely to pick out what memory will belong to them! However, if you reach this point of having quite a few memories and you still want to play memory roulette with the shards, you still can!
We can also post more mingles for characters to get out, though we still want to encourage player posts!

Possibly premature question about Cat team, I know in some other games when a similar team was created there was an option to move from a pre-existing team to the new team. Will this kind of option present itself, oocly or icly? It would also open up spots on teams but obviously this would be a little trickier.
