IMPORTANT DISCUSSION-THING ABOUT HEARTS

HELLO EVERYONE

Firstly, I'd like to extend my apologies for putting the trauma game and hearts so close together! I underestimated how many characters would go for maiming and the impact that would have upon people's ability to play in the hearts. AND SO! This here is a poll on how we'd all like to proceed:

1. Myself, heart runners, and mods could get together and shift the actual timing of the games! This wouldn't be without issues, as some people had to take time off work for hearts; we'd have to re-do signups; it would mean hearts are smushed up against [???] …

On the other hand, we couuuld maybe spread the hearts over the course of a full week, and let characters come and go as they will?? Some characters would just WHUPS FALL OVER in the middle of doing whatever, and oops suddenly game.

2. Run the hearts outside of IC time! This means that the game itself wouldn't be inserted into the timeline until after Day 88/ 89, even if we're not quite there OOCly.

3. SOUL PROJECTIOOOOOON. What this means is that the characters' physical, injury-ridden bodies would stay "outside", while a whole and healthy projection of them would go a-wanderin' in somebody else's soul.

4. Nyssa temporarily rewinds OR fast-forwards "time"! The characters' minds/mentality would be the same, but their body would be healed; after the game it would reset. This option would make it easier for characters with SERIOUS limb-loss to get to the game, as (ASSUMING I GET MOD PERMISSION) the effect would be Kyr-wide.

Please discuss! I personally am leaning towards option 4.

Any comments or issues regarding the trauma game itself should be emailed to the mods, who will pass it on to myself and Trin.

I'm personally fine with pretty much anything, but option 3 does seem like it would be the easiest for characters with serious maiming? I'd also like having less IC time between trauma prom and heart games, but I understand others might feel the opposite. So again, anything's cool with me!

Ooh, that sounds good too! How would injuries received in hearts be affected by that option, though? Would they be healed before the reset?

Either way, my vote falls for option 4, but my character wasn't injured in a way that would impact heart spelunking so it's not really my issue.

3 or 4 is absolutely fine by me♥

I'm also fine with pretty much anything! Options 2 or 3 seem best to me personally. Hearts are just really easy to run out of time and then stuff into timeline later (we're doing that anyway because they're spread over four days, aren't we?). And option 3 sounds like the most organic "you're healed so you can run through a heart" option to me... but I may also just like the idea of characters "falling asleep" to go into hearts, and when/if they "die" in the heart they snap awake outside of it, haha.

But yeah, whatever you guys go with is fiiiine with me /o/ Mostly because neither of my characters were harmed in a way that would affect their runs, so other people may have stronger feelings on it than me :|b!

I'm technically not affected by the timing either, but I'd lean toward 2 or 3. 4 sounds a little too unnecessarily retcon-y to me because it would be like... injured from traumaprom -> suddenly better now -> possibly injured in heart -> yay all healed!! -> back to being injured from traumaprom, if I'm understanding it correctly. I think soul projection would have virtually the same effect but without having odd unprompted time shenanigans.

3 seems like the best option given OOC timing constraints and also IC issues. Everything else with adjusting timelines both IC and OOC seems like more hassle than it would be worth, imo.

I'm not impacted by it necessarily, but 2 or 3 seem like the best options just for OOC and IC ease. 1 and 4 seem like a big OOC hassle and 4 also seems like it could set up some very weird precedents ICly and there is a lot of room for unintended problems.

As a runner, I'd prefer option 3. All of the other options feel like a lot of unnecessary hoops to jump through, given the time and issues we've got both ICly and OOCly.

Granted, I'm also saying that with some... wobbliness, as I've already had to edit a big portion of my heart game as is (because my character made ~*great*~ decisions during that game), so as little extra stress and confusion would be nice so myself nor my players feel like we're drowning. :|a But I will not argue against compromise!

2 or 3 works for me!!
