Halloween Game info: THE SECOND COMING
Although we were super excited to make the upcoming game a surprise, there's a lot of concerns about how the game will affect people in light of the previous trauma game. Although OOC surprises are fun, OOC comfort is also important!
To that end, we’ve decided to lay all the cards on the table so that you may make well-informed decisions:
- The first round (Saturday), is a Nyssa run kill game—it will be anon, and deaths will be INDIVIDUAL. You can read the details on the sign-up post here.
- After this, there will be a day off for fall out ... and also because none of the killed will be revived directly after Nyssa’s game. All living characters will be allowed back into the castle between days/rounds.
- The next three rounds starting from Monday will be a rubyquest-style game through which Yaksinis and Nyssa will revive the dead. Out of those killed on Saturday, those who OOCly volunteer for the role will have their characters controlled through a series of traumatic puzzles by a majority vote. This will include body horror and gore.
- The rest of the characters involved in the rounds past Saturday (NOT including the dead) will not be hurt further physically. They may be hurt mentally.
- Beyond attempting to co-operate to successfully rescue the dead through multi-team majority votes regarding a series of puzzles, failure to solve the puzzles will lead to mental status effects on the voters.
- Because this is Kyriakos, there is a chance you'll all flawlessly rescue the dead and everyone will revive happy and healed ... and a chance that it'll all end in a psychotic TPK. But the latter isn’t the intended outcome.
We have pared down the trauma levels of the game to place it close in line with Cry Wolf and Heavy Rain. To make clear: PVP will not be a mechanic outside of Saturday -- the real focus of the game is working together to revive your dead friends.
If we can't get the required amount of players, primarily for Saturday but also for the volunteer section afterwards, we will unfortunately have to cancel and find a different, one-day game to run.
Times are as follows:
Saturday (1/11): 11am EST - 4pm EST. SIGN UPS HERE.
Sunday: NO ROUNDS.
Monday: 6pm - 10pm EST.
Tuesday: 6pm - 10pm EST.
Wednesday: 6pm - 10pm EST.
Remember, you don't have to play in Saturday's portion to play in rubyquest! Nor do you have to play in rubyquest if you played in Saturday's portion.

For example, "x wants to jump in bed with nyssa" or "x is a lazy asshole"

special.
SO I wanted to ask, is there going to be any manipulation of the sins submitted so that everything is even in terms of whatever you're doing? Or will it really just be "jaywalking vs. mass murder"?

...But I still have a few questions, so um.
1. Will powers be on? And/or will there be any point where they won't be? (I have to ask because fox familiar.)
2. Will it be okay to come late to the weekday rounds? Like, by an hour or so. I especially ask in the case of the dead puppetfolk, because my commute (sob) sucks, and I only get home at around 7:15, so if I have to be there the whole time and can't be late, I can't volunteer even if Sol ends up dead...
3. ...Just out of curiosity, how conscious will dead puppetfolk be while they're being puppetted around? Like, on a scale of "floppy dead no memory because completely out" to "help I have no mouth and I must scream".

2/3. Oh, I need to clarify this immediately for people who haven't played a variation of this game. If you're dead and a volunteer, you have absolutely no control over what you do. You cannot play and won't be threading directly with things, since everything you do will be controlled by the survivors present.
For example, it'll be:
And you'll know that your character was eaten by a bear, and you'll need to deal with the aftermath of that when he's revived and back under your control.
3. You can show up late to the rest of the rounds. And if you are a volunteer, and dead, you don't need to be present... To be present.

I'm still a little confused on the third one, though. What I kind of mean is, acknowledging that the character has no control of their actions, are they actually aware of what's going on during the thing, or do they only learn what happened after? So like, for the bear example, are they aware that they are being puppeted into hugging an angry bear and unable to do anything about it, or do they wake up after being revived from being eaten and learn "oh hey, I was eaten by a bear, how did that happen I wonder"?

They will be aware of everything that happened, and they will have lived it out! From their perspective, they were puppetted into getting eaten by a bear, they were aware during those actions and felt the resulting pain of bear noms. They will remember everything that happened in the game.
