Hello Kyriakos!
First off, we want to say thank you for partcipating in our game discussion for game pacing. We have come up with a bit of a gameplan to try to make things work out better for everyone!
✾ We will be adjusting 3:1 to be 4:1 — that is, four OOC days to every one IC day. While we still want to operate on flex-time, this should help slow the game down a little to where - hopefully - people don't feel as overwhelmed.
✾ Along with that, we're going to be introducing loser games! We would really like to try to aim for two a month. We would like to implement this as soon as possible, but we need your help to do it. If you have a game claimed in November and wouldn't mind readjusting it to a loser game, please email us at kyriakosmods@gmail.com. If no one wants to turn their game into a loser game, this will be implemented in December. We will keep you up-to-date on this!
✾ To help with the memory and game crush that players have complained about, we have adjusted our rules:
First, games must always be at least two days apart from each other.
Second, we will only allow two games a week! Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday still apply as our weekday/weekend days for this, with one game in each slot.
Third, there must be at least one game geared towards eurotime, moontime, or aussietime at least every two weeks, with the ability to schedule one more if another game hasn't been claimed yet for one of those weeks. This is to help try to give some of our players in other timezones/players with an odd schedule the ability to play in games, since they often end up missing them.
As a note, to help facilitate the third change, from now on when you add your game to the calendar, please note what time zone it's for and what time you're planning to run it on the calendar.
✾ We can and will adjust things if they are not working out as necessary in order to find a balance that's best for you, the players.
✾ If there are any questions, please email them to us and we will get back to you ASAP. Alternatively, just leave a comment to this entry!

For the time being we'd like it to be mostly loser teams that attend, however it's fine if individuals trickle in to play if they want — and if that's what the runner wants. The individuals that do decide to play can get small items for playing while the loser teams will get the memories!
Basically, runner discretion, but the games can be smaller to allow you to work with ideas that may only work with a smaller group of people rather than a giant group of people.

If you want to help and have any loser game ideas, please email us so we can help get that all sorted out! Though I think we're booked all through November now, so nothing would be able to really happen until December.

In fact, I had it in mind when I first apped The Maiden in the first place, but it would only really work for loser games, so it was just left on the backburner.
But yes, I'll send an email.

Are these Sabra-style loser games, where you still have to compete in order to get something, or Aather-style, where all you have to do is turn up?

THOUGH IF YOU ONLY WANT LOSER TEAMS TO BE PRESENT THAT WOULD PRESENT A PROBLEM SO NVM I GUESS

I mean, since we schedule things based on OOC days, and not IC days.
Wouldn't it make things harder for characters ICly, since that means more games can happen in one IC day than before?

p. much it just means we've got a little more time to thread things out! hopefully. even if it means there's possibly going to be more than one game in an IC day, i think the pros could outweigh the cons

Then again, it's true that ic days did get sped through a lot! But that's more at fault of people going "oh, the post before mine was in the afternoon, so this post should be in the evening" rather than considering their post could also be in the afternoon, I think. If that makes sense.

The thing for me, though, is that I don't mind so much how much happens in an IC day, as long as I have enough time to thread it OOCly! That might be a matter of personal preference; I know I've always leaned more towards 3~4:1 over 2~3:1 for that very reason, haha.

As it stands now, a lot of stuff happens that came timelock a character- for example, say character A and B have a fight and can't tag anywhere else until the fight is done so they know what happened. Those things can take a lot of time to resolve, and at our current time rate, you can end up missing over a full IC day for something that shouldn't have taken that long at all, and it gets very weird. Slowing down the IC time means you can relax more and not miss all the things if you're timelocked or something similar.

Thank you!
